What is the process?
The first step is to book an appointment where we will get your child's prints in clay. After your appointment, your pieces will be shaped, inscribed, and laid out to dry. Once they are dry they will be fired in a kiln, glazed, and then fired again. When they are ready for pick up, you'll be notified. Pieces are ready about 8 weeks from when the prints are taken.
What can I expect at an appointment?
Prior to your appointment, I will prepare clay according to the order you noted when you booked. We'll discuss the details of your order (color, shape, fonts, etc.) and take the clay impressions. The whole appointment usually takes about half an hour.
When will I be able to pick up my order?
Orders are usually ready for pick up 8 weeks from when the prints are taken. If you have a deadline, I am happy to try and accommodate special requests, just ask! When your order is ready, I will contact you and let you know it's time to pick up with further instructions.
Will it be ready for Christmas?
To have it by Christmas, book by November 1. Pieces are ready about 8 weeks from when the prints are taken.
Missed it? Still come. The Christmas deal on the grandparents bundle runs through December 15, it just won't be ready until after the holidays. Or give a gift card: they open it on Christmas and book their visit when they're ready.
Is it safe?
Yes! We only use non-toxic materials. Your child's safety is our top priority.
Do you do home visits?
Yes! We do home visits for an additional charge. Reach out to us if you are interested.
